ate Byte Apps is a small, independent software studio based in Brisbane, Queensland. We design and build practical web apps, free browser games and developer tools — plus custom software for clients who need something built properly. Everything we release is something we would happily use ourselves: clean, fast and free of clutter.
Apps, games & tools we’ve built
Over the years we’ve shipped a bit of everything. Here are the things you can try right now — most are completely free to use:
- ateByteApps DevTools — a free collection of 29+ browser-based developer tools (JSON formatter, JWT decoder, regex tester, timestamp converter, UUID & hash generators and more). Everything runs locally in your browser, with no sign-up and nothing uploaded.
- Sudoku — a free online Sudoku puzzle game with daily puzzles and multiple difficulty levels.
- Tic Tac Toe — classic 3×3 Tic Tac Toe against an unbeatable computer or a friend, with light and dark themes.
- Wordles — an unlimited Wordle-style word game; pick 5, 6 or 7 letter words and play as much as you like.
- Squadi Parser — turns Squadi sports fixtures into calendar subscriptions so players and parents never miss a game.
- MBOX Archive — a native macOS app for opening and searching .mbox email archives, such as those from a Google Takeout export.
You can see the full list any time on our Apps page.
Need something built?
Alongside our own products we take on custom development work — from iPhone and macOS apps to web applications and test-automation tooling. If you’ve got an idea you need made, we’d love to hear about it. Take a look at who we are, then get in touch and tell us what you have in mind.
We also write about the things we build and the tools we use on the ate Byte Apps blog — practical notes on development, handy utilities and the occasional project story.
